The Weld County Board of Commissioners is now accepting applications from Weld County residents interested in serving on the Ad Hoc Charter Review Committee. This committee, which will be made up of nine Weld County residents, will be charged with reviewing the Home Rule Charter, holding a series of public meetings to gather input from Weld County residents with regard to the charter and submitting to the commissioners any proposed amendments to the charter. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21.

Following the application deadline, the Commissioners will review the applications and set up interviews beginning the week of February 26.
Weld County is one of only two Colorado counties to have a Home Rule Charter. The Charter, which was originally written and adopted by the residents of Weld County in 1975, has been amended 18 times.
