President Nancy Teksten, District 2 County Councilwoman, was born in southern Minnesota and attended St. Benedict/ St John’s University. She married her husband, Steve, and together they farmed near Odin, MN for 14 years prior to coming to Greeley in 1983. They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.

Nancy’s career in marketing and public relations spanned over 25 years  with 13 years as the Director of Promotion and Grower Relations  for the National Onion Association and 9 years as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for Centennial Bank of the West. She has previously served on the County Council for one term.

She is best known in Greeley for her volunteer efforts. Teksten was honored as an Outstanding Women of Weld County. She has served on over 40 committees and boards including United Way chair, President of The Rotary Club of Greeley, UNC Performing and Visual Arts Board chair, Greeley Chamber of Commerce, Aims Community College Foundation Board of Directors, School District 6 Mill Level Override Executive Committee, a Founding Board Member of both Women 2 Women and The Woman’s Fund Serving Greeley and Weld County. During her term as Rotary President the Poudre Learning Center became a reality, and in 2006 she was recognized as United Way of Weld County’s Volunteer of the Year. She is currently on the United Way Board and their Exec. Committee and Chair of the Guadalupe Shelter Non-Event Gala.
