Jason Maxey

Commissioner Jason Maxey Commissioner Jason Maxey has lived in Weld County for over 34 years, and comes from a dairy farming family that has been the area just west of Kersey since the mid-1950's.

He and his beautiful bride have been married for 24 years. They have lived in unincorporated Weld County for over 14 years, raising two children on their small acreage south of Gill. He and his wife enjoy raising a small herd of farm animals, gardening, hiking, kayaking and fishing.

Jason has been involved in many community related activities over the years, such as volunteering at his church, coaching both his kids on multiple sports teams, and participation on various boards and commissions including: Weld County Planning Commission (2009-2015), Weld County Board of Adjustment (2011-2018), Weld County Board of Health (2015-2018), Platte Valley School Board (2013-2017), and SE Weld Chamber of Commerce (2013-2015).

He participated in the Metro North Chamber of Commerce Leadership program, and after graduating became a part of the Leadership Advisory Board and was Chair for two years. Jason was honored to receive the Metro North Chamber's Leadership Person of the Year award in 2014. In addition, he graduated from the CSU Colorado Water Center’s Water Literate Leaders of Northern Colorado program in June 2024, and is currently part of the Leadership Program of the Rockies - Class of 2025.

Formerly the Director for Weld County’s Oil & Gas Energy Department, Jason is honored to have been chosen by the voters to represent District 1, and continue Weld County’s legacy of strong, conservative leadership.
