Welcome and thank you for caring about children and youth in foster care in Weld County! The following children are currently waiting for a foster-adoptive family or a foster family who is in the position to adopt should the case move in that direction. Janie, Age 15

Glitz and glam! Janie likes to play with make-up and try different looks. To pass the time, she likes to watch make-up tutorials. Blue is her favorite color. Snuggling up with a good book is something Janie enjoys. She was recently involved in volleyball. Janie loves dogs, and Taco bell is an ideal meal for her. She is considering attending cosmetology school in the future.

James, Age 11

James loves learning and has a keen interest in teaching himself new languages! Arabic, Chinese, and Japanese tutorials on YouTube have been integral to his learning. He even knows a little bit of Greek. When he needs to tune out, Rainbow Rangers is one show that James delights in watching! Brown is his most liked color, and James thinks that having super speed would be the coolest thing to happen. This kiddo has a knack for numbers and can easily figure out mathematics. James is adored by the adults closest to him; he has a close bond with his teachers and foster mother. He is a caring and loving child known as everyone’s best friend. James has positive relationships with his peers. Math is this fifth grader’s most enjoyable class.

Oscar, Age 14

A day spent outdoors is a dream come true for Oscar! When the weather isn't ripe for being outside, Oscar likes to spend his time reading or playing video games. Five Nights at Freddy's is one of his favorite games and characters. Oscar is not a picky eater; he enjoys a variety of foods. Running at super speed would be an ideal superpower for this athlete. He thinks blue is the best color.

Meet this fantastic sibling duo, Richard and Eliyah!

Richard, who likes to go by “Jr.,” is a kind boy who is very creative and crafty. He loves origami, building ramps, and playing with Tech Decks. He is a great artist and architect. Drawing free hand is something he loves to do. Jr. has friends at school and gets along with mostly everyone. He is naturally good at sports and is very active. His favorite sports are football and soccer. Jr. has great manners and is kind to everyone. He does well with structure and patience. After a long day, a warm slice of pizza with hot sauce is what he craves. He adores the color blue, and cheetahs are the best animal. Yo-yos are a fun toy to play with when he gets bored. Hogwarts is not an unknown fantasy world to Jr., as Harry Potter is his favorite fictional character. In the future, Jr. wants to be a soccer player. Science is this sixth grader's favorite subject.

Eliyah is a sweet girl who has a great imagination. She loves to play with her dolls and stuffed animals. She enjoys painting and making crafts. She loves going to school and is a good friend to her peers. Eliyah is very active and enjoys playing basketball and dancing. After a long day, a nice lobster tail would fill her stomach. Black is her favorite hue. Eliyah is very thoughtful and enjoys making people feel special by drawing pictures and writing notes. Eliyah does chores when she's asked and makes responsible decisions. Cats, hippos, and sloths are Eliyah’s favorite animals. She thinks Wonder Woman is the best fictional character and wishes she could see through walls if given the opportunity. In the future, Eliyah dreams of being a veterinarian. Math and writing are this fifth grader's favorite subjects.

Dante, Age 14

Dante is a sweet 14-year-old boy who is with a big imagination. He is a great builder, can really make amazing things with Legos and K'NEX. Dante loves robotics and figuring out how things work. He is a high relationship type kid, always seeks to please and be connected to those around him. He loves cats and is really kind to all animals. He has a great ability to get beyond the tough circumstances of his life and has a very positive outlook on life. He loves telling jokes and making people laugh.

Jax, Age 6

E-N-E-R-G-E-T-I-C is one word to describe Jax! A perfect day for him is spent riding his bike and cooling off in the pool afterward. Jax loves to play outside and on playgrounds, and he's known to be a good swimmer. Blue and rhinoceros are two of his favorite things. Some of his most desired foods are pasta, burritos, chicken tenders, fresh fruit, and crackers. Like most kids his age, Jax likes typical characters and shows that are appropriate for his age group. Jax adores adult interaction and engagement and likes to be the leader with his peers. Jax is now in the first grade. His caseworker reports that he likes the dramatic play area at his preschool. He finds joy in building towers and castles with blocks and loves to play with cars.

Tisha, age 16

Tisha likes to watch television shows such as Twilight and Vampire Diaries. She enjoys coloring and completing diamond art.

Tisha loves makeup and having her hair different colors. She has a great sense of humor and loves animals.

Purple, red and black are her favorite colors and she would love to be able to have the superpower to be invisible. Tisha is considering being a counselor or teacher in the future.
