Weld County — November is National Diabetes Month, a time when communities across the country team up to bring attention to diabetes. This year’s focus is on prediabetes and preventing diabetes.
According to the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment’s 2019 Community Health Survey, 10.1% or about 1 in 10 adult residents reported they were ever diagnosed with diabetes by a health care professional. That equates to about 19,500 adults in Weld County.
The good news is that by making small, healthy lifestyle changes, it is possible to prevent type 2 diabetes and even reverse prediabetes.
