Improved COVID-19 Data Dashboard includes positivity rates, hospital information

Weld County — The Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment along with the Office of Emergency Management, Department of Information Technology and the Board of Commissioners has developed a new data dashboard to provide residents with more information about COVID-19 in Weld County.

The dashboard contains several user-friendly tabs with information broken down into categories including case data, community data, testing data and hospital data. The landing page to the dashboard now provides users a quick and easy-to-read snapshot of what is happening in Weld County regarding positive cases and hospital resources.

“We understand everyone is trying to make the best decisions for themselves when it comes to COVID-19,” said Commissioner Chair Mike Freeman. “The improvements to the dashboard will provide more information to the public, as well as other agencies and school districts, so they get a more accurate picture of how the virus is impacting Weld County citizens and hospitals.”

While a by-the-numbers overview is the first screen users will see, category tabs and some charts allow for the expansion of information to specific time periods, zip codes, ages, etc. The original information the county published to its previous dashboard is still available on the new version, including the cases by zip code and health region (albeit on a separate page).

Case numbers, demographics, hospitalizations and geographic data will continue to be updated by 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (numbers from the weekend will be entered on Monday and will populate on the correct day). Testing data will be updated by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. It is important to remember, however, due to reporting delays, data corrections and reassignment of cases across jurisdictions, data from the most recent 14-day period is subject to change.
